The power of rituals
It’s easy to get lost in the hustle, bustle and frantic pace of daily life, where pressure bombards you from every angle: work, home, kids, hobbies, all while trying to be magazine-perfect. It’s no wonder that stress and anxiety are such common causes of sickness in the modern world. How can we keep up?
Art of Ritual, Art of Calm
The Oxford English Dictionary defines “Calm” as: not showing or feeling nervousness, anger, or other strong emotions, and “Mindful” as: Focusing one's awareness on the present moment, especially as part of a therapeutic or meditative technique.
When we created Pio in 2012 it was with the idea of facilitating calm and helping build peaceful moments into your day. Like taking a warm, fragrant bath on a cold evening, closing the door and letting the rest of the world stay outside for a while.
Like turning your face to the sun and feeling it warm your face
Like lighting a candle and reading a good book
Like turning off the TV and meditating
Moments of connection and peace.
The name Pio comes from the Latin, and means to purify by sacred ritual. Sticking with the Oxford English Dictionary, “Ritual” is (of an action) arising from convention or habit. To us that means creating those moments of me time, of calm. and keeping them sacred.
Our product range is created with love and care to help you with your daily rituals and self-nurture.
Our products are all vegetarian (most vegan), and cruelty free. Where possible we use recyclable/recycled packing.
We operate from a small workshop in the heart of Robin Hood country in Nottinghamshire, where everything is still made by hand and with passion in small batches.
